On Location Tour Testimonials - Summer 2010

Jodi,

I have received much thanks from all of the skiers who attended your clinic at Ski Watch for pulling it together for you to bring your On Location Tour to us. All of us at Ski Watch who attended your clinic were very impressed and appreciative of your time with us, and it really was a thrill to have your bold RV, MC promo boat, and your world class team (with Gar and Diego) spending time with us for the weekend.

Dan White with Radar Strada skiLet me assure you, the pleasure (and the rewards) for helping make it possible for you to come to us were all mine. I've had a lot of coaching from a lot of folks in the last 15 years, and I can say unequivocally, that you have helped more in two days than the accumulation of all of my previous instruction put together. Why? You didn't just point out what I was doing wrong without providing a solution, and you didn't just give me band aid advice to fix symptoms. You prescribed a process, starting with a foundation of core position, and systematically working every problem that I had, from technique flaws, to gate timing, to turning problems. I had the opportunity to observe you instructing others, from beginners to 38'-off "know-it-all" skiers. I was amazed at not only your knowledge and ability to see what the root problem was with all types of skiers, but your personality and ability to articulate uniquely to every different personality type and ability level exactly how to fix each problem.

Sitting beside you in the boat I saw the light come on with a 38'-off skier who was struggling with a core position (unknown to him at the time) issue, and I saw the ear-to-ear grin of a new skier that ran the course for the very first time (twice in a row!) with your instruction, innovative approach, and gift of communication. That alone was worth the price of admission for me as a member of the water ski community, but for me as a water skier, what you have shown me is priceless. I have been on the verge of quitting the sport out of frustration for lack of progress many times. There are at least two students in your clinic this weekend that can attest that I have hurled a $1200 water ski into the trees on the shoreline from the boat 50 feet offshore (that's a lot of frustrated adrenaline) and began drawing up FOR SALE plans for my boat and water ski lake property several times over the years out of sheer frustration. You have changed all of that. With the core position, and new mental and physical approach to slalom skiing that you have given me, I have experienced running the slalom course with literally 20% of the effort that I had been expending for thousands and thousands of passes. By introducing me to hidden talents that I literally did not know that I possessed, you have given me a whole new dedication to the sport, confidence in myself, and commitment to working on repetitions at my starting line length over the winter with the objective of adding a pass to my PB next summer.

You are not only a great coach (in my opinion you have no equal), but you're a cool dude and I'd like to consider you a friend.

You are welcome at Ski Watch anytime, and you let me know when you can come back and we will set up a sanctioned clinic again.

From all of us at Ski Watch,

Dan White
